Taught by Thea Clark
September 7th 11 am – 6 pm
In this one day workshop you will learn how to create your own cyanotypes for jewelry applications. Photosensitive emulsions will be painted onto fabric, exposed to sunlight, and developed in water to create photographic depictions in cyanotype. By substituting lightweight silk for paper and using transparencies in addition to objects, you will learn the technique to capture images on material to incorporate into wearable works.
This workshop is being offered to coincide with the exhibition and catalog Multiple Exposures: Jewelry and Photography at the Museum of Arts and Design, NYC that includes several of Thea’s pieces.
