November 18 & 19
Class Description

Spend two days exploring color on metal with the use of powder coating for jewelry and small metals. During this workshop we will explore the process of basic application and advanced techniques used to powder coat on a small scale. Participants are encouraged to cut and manipulate stock or found metal to cover in richly colored surfaces, then experiment with a variety of assembly techniques to combine layers of color. This workshop will provide information on the process as well as tools and materials needed for powder coating. Time will be allotted for basic metalsmithing skill instruction as needed and participants are encouraged to bring materials and pieces to color, although there will be some materials available to practice with. All levels welcome, although some metalworking skills will be helpful.

Students are asked to pay a $15 materials fee at the beginning of the workshop.
