No Class Meeting May 31
In this 8 week jewelry course learn to utilize sawing, piercing, and filing to enhance your designs. There will be two main projects to take your basic metalsmithing skills further. In the split ring project the initial shank is separated into multiple pieces, filed individually, and reassembled into the final band through precise fitting and soldering. The pierced pendant project will begin with die forming sheet metal in the hydraulic press, piercing a design on a curved surface, and then soldering the piece into a hollow form. This course will hone your hand skills and give you the opportunity to refine your sawing, piercing and filing techniques while fabricating more advanced pieces of jewelry.
Basic jewelry fabrication skills required. This class is a great follow up to our Welcome to Jewelry courses.
