Ruta Reifen was first introduced to the craft of jewelry making during an evening class at Central St. Martins College of Art when living in London in 2001. It was love at first solder!
In 2009, she graduated with her Bachelors in Design, with excellence, from the Jewelry Design department at Shenkar College of Design, Israel. Ruta pursued her fascination with wearable art in her MFA studies at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she graduated with honors in 2011 from the Jewelry and Metals department.
Ruta is now Brooklyn based and keeps her own studio practice in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. She has presented in galleries and museums in Israel, Europe and the United States. Her work is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Art and Design in New York.
She currently works in the fashion jewelry industry in New York City as a jewelry designer.
Ruta also teaches in the Metals department at the School of Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA, and at 92Y in New York.
