Zachery Lechtenberg

aka Yotburd

An emphatic illustrator, Zachery Lechtenberg lets his animated objects speak for themselves. By creating a lexicon replete with stylized characters and thematic story lines Lechtenberg gives his audience the opportunity to explore the work on multiple levels. Hand drawn packaging that true collectors covet hold jewelry pieces that dare you to open and wear them – and possibly decrease the value of the original object, no longer mint. The artwork itself is also covered in the same graphic cartoon depictions holding yet more layers for decryption.

The sentimental, the covetable, and the collectible all factor into the objects that are given life in Lechtenberg’s world. His most recent exhibition Non Photo Blues will open on May 12 at Gallery Loupe in Montclair, NJ and will run through June 9. His work was recently exhibited at the Metal Museum of Memphis, Tennessee and can be found in several major personal collections.

Zachery Lechtenberg hails from the great Midwest.
