Black Lives Matter

Black Trans Lives Matter

Brooklyn Metal Works fully supports our BIPOC family, friends, and neighbors and will continue to engage in efforts to dismantle systemic racism and white supremacy. We believe that Black Lives Matter and Black Trans Lives Matter. Together we will work to make this world healthy, loving, and safe for everyone to grow and prosper.

Brooklyn Metal Works is founded and operated by artists, and exists to support working artists by providing safe access to tools and equipment, and creating space for artists to come together and share their work with a broader audience and each other. We also strive to educate the public about jewelry, metalsmithing, and craft processes. Our mission is community driven, and as such BKMW strives to be reflective of the diversity of our world. Our goal is to uplift and support each other in recognition of diversity and to not exclude anyone based on race, creed, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, size, age, ability, or country of origin.

Jewelry and metal working is a global pursuit and exists in every culture. These practices belong to everyone and this knowledge should be shared with all who are interested. We are incredibly proud of the community of artists who have invested their time and talents here at BKMW over the past 8 years, and incredibly honored to work alongside such accomplished people. How we continue to build an inclusive foundation is of the utmost importance and one we take seriously. We recognize that representation is vital to foster a community that reflects and amplifies voices in unparalleled support. This principle continues to guide us as we move forward together.
