Aug 28 - Oct 23
Class Description

A true introduction to chain making, this class will cover the most basic of linkages, beginning with cable and paper clip style chains, and moving into more complex and individualized chain patterns for jewelry.  Students will make samples of several chain styles using various gauges and shapes of wire, and then plan and execute a chain-based project using the skills learned through sample making.

Geared towards novice jewelers and more advanced students alike, this class is designed to  boost your confidence in soldering and plier work, as well as to give you new opportunity to personalize your designs. Repetitive soldering will be good practice for students at any level.

Samples will be made in brass, copper, and silver.

Students must have prior soldering experience to take this course. It does not need to be extensive, but familiarity with torchwork and soldering principles is expected. Our Welcome to Jewelry classes offer this introduction.

This class may be repeated by past students.

Class size 4 – 12 students. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination required. Masks are required to be worn for all studio coursework.

Supply kit will be available for purchase through our Tool Shop.
