Feb 1 - March 22, 2023
Class Description

This jewelry course is all about composition! It is an exercise in designing and executing wearables from start to finish using production-style methodology. We will make 3 different designs that explore balance, wearability and technique in this 8 week course. In the first half students will learn to flamework beads, spend time drafting, replicating, and cold working their soft glass beads at UrbanGlass. These will become a part of their finalized wearable pieces at Brooklyn Metal Works in the second half of the course, where students will be learning soldering, plier work, and other metal fabrication techniques. There is a tool kit required for this course, which is available for purchase through the Brooklyn Metal Works Tool Shop.

February 1st – February 22nd at UrbanGlass
March 1st – March 22nd at Brooklyn Metal Works

Note: Masks are now optional, not required for coursework.

Due to the collaborative nature of this course, we are unable to accept UG general scholarship applications. Bead Project Alumnae are encouraged to apply for the Chelicca Scholarship for this course.
