- 1 gram of 24k gold – in the form or sheet or grain
- Sterling silver sheet – over 1mm thick
- 2 sheets of copper – 1mm or 0.8mm thick (about 7 x 5 cm)
- Nail scissors
- Rubbing alcohol
- Stainless steel mesh firing rack (example here)
- Soldering tweezers (clean, with a fine tip) to move the foil
- Disposable latex/nitrile gloves
- Fine brass brush
- Cheap burnisher
- Clean cotton rag
- Charcoal block (can be inexpensive type)
- Clean white paper – several sheets
- Safety glasses
