Wedding Jewelry at BKMW
Brooklyn Metal Works is pleased to offer private lessons for those who want to create their own wedding rings. Our wedding ring workshops are designed to help those with limited jewelry fabrication and metalsmithing knowledge create beautifully crafted pieces of jewelry. We will provide the tools and equipment and expertly guide you in the creation of these important future heirlooms. During your time with us you will receive focused one-on-one instruction from our skilled instructors from start to finish. Your initial consultation will outline your day’s activities so that you are well prepared on the day of the workshop. For those wishing to melt down preexisting jewelry, this option is open to discussion at your consultation. Helping people make their own celebration jewelry is such an exciting process, and we look forward to working with you!

Our wedding ring workshops begin with an initial consultation at the rate of $100/hr.
We recommend reaching out with at least two months in advance to your desired date in order to create your bands.
All wedding ring workshops require a three hour minimum commitment per instructional session. Workshop length will be determined by the intricacies of the design, processes involved, and the speed with which you work. Most people are able to fabricate and complete simple bands in three hours.
Lesson Cost for 1 student for three hour session:
Basic metal fabrication - $525
Fabrication with basic stone setting - $675
Wax working (requires two sessions) - $525/session
Wax working with basic stone setting (requires two sessions) - $675/session
Additional hours over the initial session will be pro-rated per hour.
We also provide wedding ring workshops for two students, priced at a daily rate and, require a full day commitment, maximum 8 hours with breaks.
Lesson cost for 2 students for full day workshop:
Metal Fabrication:
1 day workshop without stone setting - $1,400
1 day workshop with basic stone setting - $2,200
Wax Working:
2 day workshop with or without basic stone setting (day 1 wax carving, day 2 metalworking/stone setting) - $3,200
Deposits are required to secure appointments, as well as 24 hour notice for any cancellation.
Pricing above is solely for the workshop instruction. Metal and Gemstones for the bands incur additional costs and will be discussed at the consultation meeting.
