Moein Shashaei is an Iranian artist and educator based in Brooklyn, NY. He learned the foundations of jewelry making in Tehran when he was an architecture student wanting to design shapes and events in a more intimate scale around the human body. In 2014, he moved to New York to study communications design at Pratt Institute. Ever since, he has been exploring metalwork and bodily installation as media of human interaction. In summer 2022 Moein founded Zangar (pronounced /zang'aar/ archaic Farsi for rust.) Zangar’s designs are tied to memories triggered in the flowing-around of information in different languages and forms.
